Volunteering

Are you interested in what we are doing and would like to help?

Our small band of volunteers are not skilful cabinetmakers or precision engineers but we do our best with the DIY skills we have to repair and maintain these old coaches.

Whether you can make dovetail joints or not, training and advice can be given. For some of our younger volunteers who have not picked up such DIY skills we have trained them in the use of hand and power tools, preparation of surfaces, painting and scumbling (graining) so don’t be intimidated – get involved.

Only willing hands are wanted but anyone who can paint, use a hammer or screwdriver will be very useful and most welcome. We normally have one dedicated work weekend a month and an annual workweek in mid Summer.

Restoration work has now started on the body of coach number No 216 so you could be involved in this project from the beginning.

For those not able to assist physically but feel you could help the group in some other way, please let us know.

For those who may wish to help financially be assured that any donation will be spent on a worthwhile project.
